Establishment of Grievance Redressal Committee in the Institution and Appointment of OMBUDSMAN by the University. (As per All India Council for Technical Education (Establishment Mechanism for Grievance Redressal) Regulations, 2012, F. No. 37- 3/ Lega112012, dated 25.05.2012)
AWH Engineering College is dedicated to creating a secure, and harmonious learning and working atmosphere. In line with the AICTE Regulation Act of 1987 (AICTE Notification F. No. 37-3/legal 2012, dated 25/05/2012), the notification from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Thiruvananthapuram, and the University Grants Commission regulations of 2012 (The Gazette of India, March 23-29, 2013), we have established a Grievance Resolution Unit.
This unit is responsible for managing day-to-day grievances concerning students and parents. It facilitates the resolution of these grievances in an equitable and unbiased manner, engaging the relevant department or institute responsible for the particular issue while ensuring confidentiality as needed. Any stakeholder with a legitimate grievance can approach the Grievance Resolution Unit to submit their concerns. Grievances can be lodged online at https://awh.etlab.in/grievance/default/index or sent via email to grievance@awhengg.org.
AWH is committed to promptly addressing the grievances, depending on the nature of the issue. AWH ensures that students have a reliable mechanism for redressing their concerns and complaints, whether they pertain to academic or non-academic matters. This encompasses grievances related to assessments, victimization, attendance, fee charges, examination procedures, and any form of harassment by fellow students or faculty.
To facilitate this, we have set up Grievance Redressal Committees at both the Program (UG/PG) level and the Institute level. The committee is responsible for receiving, documenting, and addressing student grievances promptly and impartially. It ensures that students have a platform to express their concerns related to academics, infrastructure, faculty-student relationships, discrimination, harassment, or any other issues affecting their well-being.
The constitution of committee responsible for student grievances and and Redressal cell is as below:

Procedure for Addressing Grievances:
⦁ A student having a grievance should submit the grievance through the online ERP system etlab, clicking the Grievance management tab.
⦁ Based on the grievance level, the SGRC members will discuss the matter and strive to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe, preferably within one week of receiving the online application.
⦁ If a student remains dissatisfied with the resolution offered by the Institute, and believes their grievance remains unaddressed, they may file an appeal with the University-level committee through the appropriate channel within one week of receiving the decision. The appeal should include all relevant details and be addressed to the Chief Operating Officer of the University-level Committee.
⦁ The University-level committee will review the student's appeal and make suitable recommendations to the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, or Dean within a reasonable timeframe, preferably within 15 days. Upon approval by the relevant authority, the final decision will be communicated to the student through the Head of the Institute.
⦁ If deemed necessary, the University Level Committee may recommend corrective actions to the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, or Dean to prevent the recurrence of similar grievances at any of the Institutes under the University.
Throughout the grievance resolution process, all committees at every level will adhere to the principles of natural justice and will provide an opportunity for the complainant and relevant parties to be heard. While making decisions at any level, the relevant provisions of the Act and Regulations will be considered, and no order will be issued in contradiction to them. Students should submit their grievance or appeal through the head of the Institution to the appropriate committee, be it at the Institute level or University level.
Information related to grievance proceedings will be treated as confidential and can only be accessed by members of the Students' Grievance Redressal Cell for investigative purposes. To oversee the redressal process, the SGRC will maintain a grievance register under the supervision of the Nodal Officer of the Students' Grievance & Redressal Committee. This register will remain confidential and accessible only to the members of the SGRC.
