1. About library

Library & Information Centre (LIC) is an outstanding learning resource centre catering to the ever growing and uncompromising information and intellectual requirements of the students and faculty members. The collection of the library includes books,Online E-Resources, print journals, reports, standards and patents in the field of Science and Technology. The LIC has acquired several thousands of books, national and international print journals, & CD ROMs etc…

The Digital Library subscribes to over 10,000+ electronic resources along with 8,000 full-text journals accessible due to J gate subscription and DELNET.

The library offers services such as reference service, user guidance service, circulation service including inter library loan and document delivery service, email alert service, bibliographic service, reprographic service, higher education data bank, Journals and magazines, News paper, Access to e-resources etc. Current awareness service is also provided. Alumni book bank started functioning in 2007 with the financial support of AWHEC Alumni Association.

The main Library is functioning from 8am to 6pm on every working day. The Automated Library of AWH Engineering College has an excellent collection of books and magazines on engineering science and related topics. Around 21,000 volumes of technical books and several national and international journals are provided to widen the perspective of the students of the college. The collection comprises printed books, CD-ROMs, Audio and video cassettes.The on– line access to DELNET databases provided to cover information in all disciplines.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

Digital Library provides an Internet browsing facility for library users from 8:00 am to 06:00 pm to browse, download and print online resources. The Digital Library is located on the first floor of the Library. The Library has a separate "Internet Browsing" section. 10 desktop computers are reserved for the use of the students. Desktop computers are reserved for the students for accessing e-resources subscribed by the Library. Wi-Fi facility is also available in all the reading halls. The Digital Library's computer services include assisting the students and faculty members while preparing the projects, Paper presentations in setting the file to the required print and printing quality. Digital Library also helps in searching for articles, e-books, and that it also provides e-mail service.

The Functions/Activities of Library Committee is to:

• Promote Access to Library Services and information resources for all readers.
• Provide proper documentation services and update the library collection.
• Work towards modernization and improvement of library and documentation services
• Formulate policies and procedures for the efficient use of library resources
• Adopt measures to enhance readership.
• To review and recommend policies for a library, and to ensure that the library runs smoothly.
• To prepare a budget for books needed by each department and forward it to finance committee
• To procure books in adequate numbers well in advance before the start of semester.
• To provide photocopy facilities in library at subsidized rates.
• To provide and maintain the facility of the reading room
• To provide and maintain Internet facilities in the digital Library.
• To manage the library with a Library Management System (Koha)
