About The Department
The Department of Applied Sciences at AWH Engineering College is committed to delivering a robust foundational education for engineering students, enabling them to succeed across diverse technical fields. Regulations
This may be called the A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technological University Academic Regulations for B. Tech, 2019. These are subject to the provisions of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Act, 2015, the statutes and ordinances if any issued in the subject from time to time. It is the express understanding that these regulations are subject to the approval of the concerned statutory bodies of the University. These regulations shall be applicable for students admitted from 2019 onward.

Labs and Facilities
Chemistry Lab
The Engineering Chemistry Laboratory is a well-equipped facility designed to provide students with hands-on experience in essential chemical analysis techniques relevant to engineering applications. The lab enables students to perform a range of titration experiments, including the determination of water hardness and dissolved oxygen measurement, fostering a deeper understanding of water quality and environmental chemistry. Additionally, students gain proficiency in simple analytical methods such as pH determination using advanced pH meters and conductivity measurement to analyze ionic properties of solutions. With modern instrumentation and expert guidance, the lab bridges theoretical concepts with practical applications, preparing students for innovative problem-solving in engineering fields.
Physics Lab
Our Physics Lab is designed to provide a solid foundation in experimental physics, fostering a deeper understanding of physical principles and their applications in engineering. This modern facility, equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, allows students to conduct a wide range of experiments that complement theoretical learning. Key experiments include studies in optics, such as diffraction, interference, and the determination of optical properties, which provide insights into the behaviour of light and its applications. Investigations into mechanical properties, including elasticity and torsion, help students understand stress-strain relationships and material behaviour. Experiments in electricity and magnetism, such as resistance measurement, verification of Ohm’s law, and the study of magnetic fields, highlight the principles of electromagnetism. Additionally, activities in modern physics, like determining the wavelength of a laser using a diffraction grating, introduce students to quantum and wave phenomena. With expert faculty guidance and advanced equipment, the lab offers a dynamic environment for developing analytical skills and a practical understanding of physics, essential for innovation and engineering excellence.
Language Lab
The Language Lab is a dedicated facility designed to enhance students’ communication skills and language proficiency. Equipped with advanced audio-visual tools and interactive software, it provides a dynamic learning environment for mastering English and other languages. Activities in the lab focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as improving pronunciation and vocabulary. By fostering confidence and fluency, the lab prepares students for academic success, professional excellence, and global opportunities.

Achievements
- Ms. Faseelath Valayankadan, Associate Professor of Chemistry, published a research paper titled ‘Identifying the Transients and Transformation Products in Hydroxyl Radical−Methimazole Reactions Using DFT and UPLC-Q-TOF MS/MS Approaches’ in an international journal indexed by Web of Science and Scopus.
- Ms Sudheela mol, Assistant Professor of Economics, delivered a talk titled on” Edify “on how students can achive success-14/10/2022
- Ms. Sudheela Mol M.S., Assistant Professor of Economics, received an appreciation letter from the Principal for achieving above 80% results in the S5 examinations-2022 odd semester.
- Ms. Faseelath Valayankadan, Associate Professor of Chemistry, received the Best Research Paper Award at the National Conference organized by the Inter University Instrumentation Centre, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
- Ms. Sudheela Mol M.S., Assistant Professor of Economics, received an appreciation letter from the Principal for achieving above 80% results in the S4 and S6 examinations-2023 even semester.
